Lift & Tighten

Understanding what has softened—and choosing the right level of support

A face can begin to look less defined even when the skin itself still feels healthy. The brow may sit a little lower, the jawline may look softer, or the transition between the face and neck may become less clear. These changes are often described together as “sagging,” although they do not all come from the same layer.

  • A softer jawline or early jowling
  • Less definition beneath the chin
  • A heavier-looking brow
  • Cheeks that appear flatter or lower
  • Skin that no longer feels as firm as before

Why lifting is not one single problem

Facial support changes through several connected processes. Collagen and elastic fibers become less resilient; fat compartments may lose volume or shift; retaining ligaments and deeper tissues change; and the facial skeleton also remodels with age. Sun exposure and smoking can accelerate visible skin aging. Because these changes occur at different depths, tightening the skin, restoring support and replacing volume are not interchangeable goals.

Different patterns need different plans

Someone with early skin laxity and good facial volume may benefit from collagen-focused tightening. Someone with hollowing through the temples or cheeks may need structural support rather than more energy delivered to the skin. The most appropriate plan depends on which layer is contributing most.

How LIVO approaches lift and support

At consultation, we look at the brow, midface, lower face, jawline and neck together. We assess skin quality, facial volume, movement, asymmetry and how the tissues behave at rest and in expression. The aim is to identify the layer creating the change before discussing a procedure.

  • Sofwave™ — non-invasive ultrasound for facial lines and wrinkles and for lifting the eyebrow, submental and neck tissue within its FDA-cleared indications.
  • Sculptra® — gradual collagen stimulation when broader facial support and volume quality have changed.
  • Radiesse® — immediate structural support with subsequent collagen stimulation in appropriately selected areas.
  • Dermal fillers — precise restoration of volume or support where a specific deficit is contributing to a softened contour.
  • Wrinkle relaxers (Botox) — useful when strong muscle activity contributes to brow position or selected contour changes.

What a thoughtful plan may look like

A plan may begin with one treatment and be reassessed before anything else is added. Combining procedures can be useful when separate layers are involved, but more treatment is not automatically better. LIVO considers sequence, proportion and how much change you actually want.

Daily skincare and sun protection

Morning — cleanse gently or rinse with water, apply an antioxidant such as vitamin C if well tolerated, moisturize, then finish with SPF 30 or higher on the face and neck.

Evening — focus on thorough cleansing and hydration. Consider using a hydrating face mask to provide the skin with sufficient moisture and nourishment.

Skincare can improve hydration and fine surface lines, but creams cannot meaningfully lift loose tissue or replace lost structural support.

Will tightening change my face?

A well-planned treatment should support existing features rather than create a new face. Volume-changing procedures require a separate discussion.

Is Sofwave the same as filler?

No. Sofwave uses ultrasound to support collagen remodeling; filler places material to restore volume or structure.

Do I need several treatments?

It depends on the concern, modality and response. We recommend a plan after assessment rather than applying one package to everyone.

Begin with the layer that has changed

A consultation at LIVO is a chance to understand whether your concern comes mainly from skin laxity, lost support, volume change or a combination—and what level of improvement is realistic.

Begin with a consultation

Every LIVO plan begins with listening and a clear understanding of what you want to preserve.
