PDRN Skin Rejuvenation
A natural DNA-derived ingredient used to support skin quality and condition

At LIVO, PDRN skin rejuvenation is offered as a complementary addition to select in-office treatments, and can also be provided as a standalone treatment. PDRN is one of the ingredients that has drawn significant attention in aesthetic medicine in recent years, and our team will walk you through how it may fit into your treatment plan during your consultation.
What PDRN is
PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a naturally derived polymer fragment purified from salmon DNA, made up of nucleotides — the basic building blocks cells use to carry out their normal functions. In aesthetic use, PDRN is valued for its potential to support the skin's own repair and renewal processes, working with the skin's biology rather than against it.
Because of a possible connection between this ingredient and skin cell signaling pathways, and its potential benefits for skin texture, elasticity, and hydration, interest in PDRN has grown quickly across dermatology and aesthetic medicine.

Where PDRN skin rejuvenation can be used
PDRN skin rejuvenation is commonly used in three areas: the eye area, face, and neck, and can be offered as a standalone treatment or paired with other treatments. Which area and product are appropriate for you will be determined together during your consultation, based on an assessment of your skin, your goals, and your overall treatment plan.

03PDRN considered by area
PDRN · Eye Area
The skin around the eyes is relatively thin and sensitive, so treatment in this area is performed more gently and precisely.

Why clients choose it
- Eye-area skin that looks dry or tired
- Wanting to improve the elasticity and firmness of the eye area
- An interest in improving the look of fine lines
- Wanting to enhance the results of another eye-area treatment already underway
What can I expect after treatment?
Every client's skin responds differently, and your provider will set expectations specific to your situation during your consultation. In general, clients commonly report their eye-area skin looking more hydrated and elastic within one to two weeks following treatment, with an improved look of fine lines and a more refreshed overall appearance.
Because the results of PDRN skin rejuvenation build over a series of treatments, the eye area typically requires multiple sessions before a more noticeable overall change is observed — the effect of a single treatment varies by individual, and your provider will discuss a reasonable treatment schedule with you during your consultation.
PDRN · Face
The face is the most common area for PDRN skin rejuvenation, typically used to improve overall skin quality and condition.

Why clients choose it
- Seeking a more plump, elastic-looking complexion
- Support for skin texture, hydration, and overall condition
- An interest in improving the look of sensitivity or redness
- Wanting to enhance the results of another skin treatment already underway
What can I expect after treatment?
Every client's skin responds differently, and your provider will set expectations specific to your treatment combination during your consultation. In general, clients commonly report their facial skin looking and feeling more plump and elastic within one to two weeks following treatment, with a smoother appearance and improvement in the look of sensitivity or redness as the treated area settles.

PDRN · Neck
The neck has fewer oil glands and tends to show laxity and lines more readily. When PDRN skin rejuvenation is used in this area, the focus is on supporting the skin's overall condition.

Why clients choose it
- Neck skin that looks dry or lax
- Wanting to improve the firmness and radiance of the neck
- Wanting to enhance the results of another neck treatment already underway
- Seeking an advanced, forward-looking option within their broader skincare routine

PDRN Aftercare: What to Know
Mild redness, swelling, bruising, or small bumps at the treated area are common in the hours following treatment and typically settle quickly. Most clients return to their normal routine the same day. The eye area is relatively sensitive, so reactions during recovery may be slightly more noticeable there, though they also tend to settle quickly.
Do's
- Keep the treated area clean and free from makeup for the first 24 hours
- Apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily to protect your skin as it recovers
- Follow any specific guidance your provider gives you for your treatment combination
- Stay hydrated and give your skin time to settle before judging results
Don'ts
- Avoid active retinoids, exfoliating acids, or other active skincare ingredients on the treated area for 24–48 hours
- Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least a few days following treatment
- Avoid harsh cleansers, physical exfoliation, or massage on the treated area for 48–72 hours
- Avoid alcohol and smoking around the time of treatment, as both can affect how your skin recovers
If you experience anything beyond mild, expected sensitivity — such as significant swelling, pain, or a reaction that concerns you — contact LIVO right away.
A thoughtful plan begins with a consultation
PDRN skin rejuvenation is only offered following an in-person consultation with your LIVO provider. This is not a formality — it's how we determine whether PDRN skin rejuvenation is a good fit for you, which area is appropriate, and which product and approach make sense for your goals.

Your consultation will cover:
- The area you're considering (eye area, face, or neck), and how PDRN skin rejuvenation may support it
- Your skin history, sensitivities, and any known allergies (especially any history of fish or seafood allergy)
- The specific product LIVO recommends for you, and why
- What a realistic outcome looks like for your individual skin
- Medical history, medications, allergies, and treatment goals
No PDRN skin rejuvenation treatment is added to a treatment plan without this conversation taking place first. We want you to feel confident and fully informed before deciding whether it's right for you.
What to expect
Your provider will explain the full process, timing, and what you can expect afterward as part of your consultation — tailored to the specific area, product, and treatment combination recommended for you.
Preparing for your appointment
Before your appointment, tell us about any known allergies (especially any history of fish or seafood allergy), your current skincare routine, and any active skin conditions. Avoid active retinoids or exfoliating acids on the treatment area for 24–48 hours beforehand, unless your provider advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a consultation before getting PDRN skin rejuvenation?
Yes, always. PDRN skin rejuvenation and the appropriate treatment area are only recommended after your provider has assessed your skin and treatment goals in person. This ensures the product and approach are right for you.
Can the eye area, face, and neck be treated at the same time?
In principle, yes. Whether multiple areas are treated at the same visit depends on your skin condition and treatment goals, and your provider will discuss this with you specifically during your consultation.
PDRN contains fish-derived material — can I still have this treatment if I have allergies?
PDRN is typically derived from salmon DNA extract. If you have a history of fish or seafood allergy, please let your provider know during your consultation so they can assess whether this treatment is appropriate for you.
Can PDRN improve sensitivity and redness?
Some clients hope to improve their skin's overall comfort and the look of redness, but redness, sensitivity, or discomfort can have many different causes. PDRN Skin Booster should not be considered a treatment for rosacea, eczema, dermatitis, or other skin conditions. If a persistent or notable skin issue is present, we may recommend a medical evaluation first.
Is PDRN the same as a dermal filler?
No. PDRN Skin Booster is primarily used to support overall skin quality and appearance, and is not intended to meaningfully add facial volume or reshape facial contours.
Is PDRN the same as Botox?
No. Botox and other neuromodulator treatments primarily address specific muscle activity and dynamic lines. PDRN Skin Booster belongs to an entirely different treatment category from neuromodulators.
How many sessions are usually needed?
The number of sessions depends on the specific product used, your individual skin condition, and your aesthetic goals. Some clients may be advised to complete a series of treatments, followed by maintenance treatments based on how their skin responds. Your provider will design a plan based on the actual product and your individual situation, rather than applying the same fixed number of sessions to every client.
Is PDRN Skin Booster FDA-approved?
No. PDRN is an ingredient category, and FDA oversight of any specific product depends on that product itself — its formulation, intended use, method of application, and its regulatory status in the United States. LIVO determines whether a given product is appropriate for use in our aesthetic services based on its regulatory classification, labeling, and applicable requirements.
