Exosome Skin Care
Advanced cellular signaling molecules, used to support your skin's natural recovery

At LIVO, exosome-based products are offered as a thoughtful addition to select in-office treatments. Exosomes are one of the most talked-about developments in regenerative aesthetics, and our team will walk you through how they may fit into your treatment plan during your consultation.
What exosomes are
Exosomes are tiny vesicles released by cells that carry proteins, growth factors, and signaling molecules — the way cells communicate with one another. In aesthetic use, exosomes are valued for their potential to support the skin's own repair and renewal processes, working with the skin's biology rather than against it.
Interest in exosomes has grown quickly across dermatology and aesthetic medicine because of what this signaling activity may offer for skin quality, tone, and resilience.

Where exosome add-ons may be considered
Exosome add-ons are most often considered alongside treatments clients are already pursuing for skin quality, skin renewal, or scalp health. Whether an exosome add-on makes sense for you, and which product is appropriate, is something we determine together during your consultation, based on your skin, your goals, and your treatment plan.

Exosomes · Skin
When used for the skin, exosome add-ons are typically paired with treatments aimed at improving skin quality and renewing the complexion, such as microneedling or light-based procedures.

Why clients choose it
- A refined, more radiant-looking complexion
- Support for skin texture, tone, and hydration
- An interest in improving the look of sensitivity or redness
- A way to enhance the results of another skin treatment already underway
What can I expect after skin care?
Every client's skin responds differently, and your provider will set expectations specific to your treatment combination during your consultation. In general, clients commonly report their skin looking and feeling more refreshed in the days following treatment, often noticing a smoother appearance and improvement in the look of sensitivity or redness as the treated area settles.
Because exosome add-ons are typically paired with another primary treatment, it can be difficult to separate what each component contributes individually — your overall results reflect the full treatment plan, not the exosome add-on in isolation. Visible changes, where they occur, tend to unfold gradually over about two weeks following treatment rather than appearing immediately. Your provider will discuss a realistic timeline with you based on the specific products and procedures used, and will help you decide whether follow-up treatments make sense as part of an ongoing plan.
Skin Aftercare: What to Know
Mild redness, warmth, or sensitivity in the treated area is common in the hours following treatment and typically settles quickly. Most clients return to their normal routine the same day.
Do's
- Keep the treated area clean and free from makeup for the first 24 hours
- Apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily to protect your skin as it recovers
- Follow any specific guidance your provider gives you for your treatment combination
- Stay hydrated and give your skin time to settle before judging results
Don'ts
- Avoid active retinoids, exfoliating acids, or other active skincare ingredients on the treated area for 24–48 hours
- Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least a few days following treatment
- Avoid harsh cleansers or physical exfoliation on the treated area for 48–72 hours
- Avoid alcohol and smoking around the time of treatment, as both can affect how your skin recovers
Exosomes · Scalp
When used for the scalp, exosome add-ons are typically paired with treatments aimed at supporting scalp health and follicle vitality, such as scalp microneedling.

Why clients choose it
- An interest in scalp health and follicle vitality
- A way to enhance the results of another scalp treatment already underway
- An advanced, forward-looking option within their broader scalp care routine
- Concerns around scalp sensitivity, dryness, or discomfort
What can I expect after scalp care?
Every client's scalp responds differently, and your provider will set expectations specific to your treatment combination during your consultation. In general, clients commonly report their scalp feeling more comfortable and nourished over time, with an improved environment for hair growth as the treated area settles.
Because the scalp and hair follicles follow their own recovery and growth cycle, noticeable changes typically take longer to become apparent, often around one month after a treatment, depending on where the hair growth cycle is at the time. Your provider will discuss a realistic timeline with you based on the specific products and procedures used, and will help you decide whether follow-up treatments make sense — and how often to return — as part of an ongoing plan.

Scalp Aftercare: What to Know
Mild redness, tingling, or sensitivity in the treated area is common in the hours following treatment and typically settles quickly. Most clients return to their normal routine the same day.
Do's
- Keep the scalp clean for the first 24 hours and avoid styling products
- Avoid high-heat blow-drying or excessive pulling on the hair the day of treatment
- Follow any specific guidance your provider gives you for your treatment combination
- Stay hydrated and give your scalp time to settle before judging results
- Avoid coloring, perming, or other unnecessary scalp treatments for about two weeks before and after treatment
Don'ts
- Avoid hair or scalp products containing active ingredients (such as salicylic acid) on the treated area for 24–48 hours
- Avoid direct, strong sun exposure on the scalp for at least a few days following treatment; a hat is recommended when going outside
- Avoid strenuous exercise that causes heavy sweating for 48–72 hours, as it may irritate the treated area
- Avoid alcohol and smoking around the time of treatment, as both can affect how your scalp recovers
If you experience anything beyond mild, expected sensitivity — such as significant swelling, pain, or a reaction that concerns you — contact LIVO right away.
A thoughtful plan begins with a consultation
Exosome treatments are only offered following an in-person consultation with your LIVO provider. This is not a formality — it's how we determine whether an exosome add-on is a good fit for you, and which product and approach make sense for your goals.

Your consultation will cover:
- The treatment you're already considering, and how an exosome add-on may support it
- Your skin history, sensitivities, and any known allergies
- The specific product LIVO recommends for you, and why
- What a realistic outcome looks like for your individual skin
- Medical history, medications, allergies, and treatment goals
No exosome treatment is added to a treatment plan without this conversation taking place first. We want you to feel confident and fully informed before deciding whether it's right for you.
What to expect
Your provider will explain the full process, timing, and what you can expect afterward as part of your consultation — tailored to the specific product and treatment combination recommended for you.
Preparing for your appointment
Before your appointment, tell us about any known allergies, your current skincare routine, and any active skin conditions. Avoid active retinoids or exfoliating acids on the treatment area for 24–48 hours beforehand, unless your provider advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a consultation before getting exosomes?
Yes — always. Exosome add-ons are only recommended after your provider has assessed your skin and treatment goals in person. This ensures the product and approach are right for you.
What can I expect from an exosome add-on?
Your provider will discuss expected outcomes with you directly during your consultation, based on the specific product and treatment plan recommended for your skin.
How is the right exosome product chosen for me?
Product selection depends on your skin type, treatment goals, and the procedure you're pairing it with. Your provider will recommend a specific product during your consultation and explain why it's the right fit.
Can this replace other treatments like Botox or fillers?
No. Exosome add-ons are designed to complement your existing treatment plan, not replace treatments like neuromodulators or fillers.
Is this an FDA-approved exosome treatment?
No. As of now, the FDA has not approved any exosome product as a drug or biologic for cosmetic use. We determine whether a given product is appropriate for use in our aesthetic services based on its regulatory classification, labeling, and applicable requirements.
